Despite being named for the city, Savannah Hawkins is originally from Atlanta. Leaving behind a retail management career with companies such as HanesBrands and Columbia Sportswear to seek new opportunities and get a break from Atlanta's traffic, she came to the city that shares her name in 2013. After working a series of jobs ranging from photographer to medical research assistant, she realized her joy is in bartending and delicious food. In 2016, she fell in love with the atmosphere Soho South Cafe and sought to join their team. A little over a year later, she has climbed ranks from hostess to lead bartender, and is now thrilled to continue cultivating her management skills with Daniel Reed Hospitality.
West Michigan native, Melissa Overbeek graduated with high honors from the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago in 2003. In 2004 she moved to Savannah and spent time working for Starwood Resorts and Kessler hotels. In 2014, she started working for Daniel Reed Hospitality part time. In July of 2015 she joined the team full time as a sous chef for Soho South Cafe. In addition to being a skillful sous chef, she has a passion for baking and working as a volunteer for the Humane Society of Savannah.
Charles Ferguson or "Chuck" as he is known to friends and family is a transplant to Savannah from the wilds of Brooklyn New York. He has earned the respect of some of Savannah's toughest kitchens the old fashion way - through hard work and dedication. With twenty years in the industry his passion for food has helped him to launch several successful local concepts.
Born and raised in Dallas, TX, Leslie Ciechanowski moved to Savannah in 2009 to attend The Savannah College of Art and Design. Shortly after, she began working at Local11ten as a hostess for the length of her time in school. Following graduation, Leslie transitioned from a front of the house position to working in the Daniel Reed Hospitality corporate office. In 2016 when the position for Events Coordinator opened, she saw it as another opportunity to grow with the company, and it was the perfect fit. With 7 years of experience with DRH, Leslie brings a professional and organized; yet fun personality to the event planning process. Her goal is to connect with clients and create a stress-free event from beginning to end.
Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, Lucas deWindt began his journey into the hospitality industry at the age of 16. Balancing the life of a full-time server and theatre student through high school and college, he faced the challenge of choosing which path to focus on, post graduation. In 2015, Lucas discovered Savannah pursuing an MFA in Performing Arts at Savannah College of Art and Design. Joining the DRH family in the fall of 2016, Lucas began as a part-time server while balancing extensive schooling and rehearsals. Upon SCAD graduation, he decided to take a break from the whirlwind life of an actor and settle down in Savannah to further his opportunities with Soho South Café. With a background in performance, he hopes to bring a creative attitude and energy to the DRH name and looks forward to sharing his love of food and drink with tourists and locals, alike.
